So I signed up for the 13 in 2013 challenge - where you challenge yourself to run 13 races of a specific distance, or a variety of distances.

I signed up for the "variety" category, but I'm going to try to run 13 half marathons this year. We'll see how that fits with my marathon training schedule....if I do two marathons again, I probably won't be able to run 13 half mary's, but if I just run one in the spring, then I  might just be able to pull it off!

UPDATE: due to my wonky joints I'll be happy to complete 13 races this year.  No marathons, maybe one half marathon, and a collection of much shorter distances.  Not what I had hoped to do, but hey, it's something!

2012 Goals:
  1. Complete Grandma's again and improve my time.
  2. Run a total of 1000 miles. 
  3. Run at least one mile per day every day of the year.  (the "I heart to Run" running streak challenge) I abandoned this one. Running one mile every day proved much more difficult than anticipated!  The daily donning of the sports bra proved to be the biggest mental hurdle to reaching this goal. Oh well.
  4. Purposely move my body 30 minutes every day for the first 100 days of the year. 99/100 days of success! 
  5. Attempt eating clean more often than not.  (Prepare to be amazed if I can do this one.)
  6. Keep on trying new challenges and see where this adventure takes me next.

*Exception to "official" results - My first 5k EVER (after completing the C25K program!) was the Boston Scientific Heart of Summer 5k on August 18, 2007.  I don't have my exact time but it was somewhere in the 31:00 range.
