two days left

Click on this guy and he'll dance for you!
This may be my last post before Grandma's - I'm heading to Duluth in the morning so I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze one in tomorrow.

Anywhoo, I just wanted to say THANKS for following along on my erratic journey towards Grandma's!

It's been fun knowing there are a handful of folks out there watching what I've been up to, laughing with me and at me as I try to figure out just what in the hell I'm doing with this whole marathon training thing, and offering support and encouragement along the way.  Knowing I needed to blog about stuff help me stay accountable and get my butt out the door!  Several of you donated to ACS too, which is super cool, especially those of you whom I've never met.  Ya'll rock!!

I feel pretty good about things!  I've been carb loading like crazy (carb whore heaven!!) carrying water with me AT ALL TIMES so I'm super hydrated, getting my last few runs done like a good girl and only going fast (relatively speaking) part of the time..... The only nagging issue is my right ankle - some kinesio tape and maybe a little spackle just for good measure, and hopefully it will hold up just fine.  I have one final, short run tomorrow: only two miles with a couple of strides thrown in to wake up the system.  It's time for the training to work it's magic now.

I'm not sure what direction the blog will take in the future (other than "it will include running"), but I've enjoyed it so I think I might just continue!  Of course, I'll have to change the name...... Any suggestions??

Thanks again, gang!  Race report is next!!!

  2. I am so excited for you! You are so close to achieving this amazing goal. I hope you enjoy each moment and are confident in knowing that you did an AWESOME job with your training. I can't wait to hear all about it, and I wish I could be there to cheer you on in person.

You absolutely must keep blogging. Grandma's is just one destination, there is still so much left of your journey. This marathon will change you, the training already has changed you, and its only fair to share your awesomeness with the rest of the world.

Now go show that 26.2 miles who's boss!!!!

  4. Nora, I wish you all the best tomorrow! You've done so well preparing-now just trust that training and you will do an amazing job!! Please keep your blog going...I've so enjoyed reading about your experiences. Somehow I just relate to so much of what you have to say and I want to know what happens after this marathon, too! And I think you should keep the title the same. It's so full of irony-you are anything but a bitter hag!!! Can't wait to read about how it all goes tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this adventure! Kari
